A fridge that cools weakly spoils food quickly in Dubai heat. Most cases we attend come down to five causes, and two of them you can rule out yourself before booking a visit.
Worn or dirty door seals
Close the door on a sheet of paper. If it slides out easily, the gasket is no longer sealing and warm humid air is leaking in. Clean the gasket with mild soapy water; if it is cracked or deformed, it should be replaced.
Dusty condenser coils
The coils at the back or underneath release heat. Coated in dust, they cannot, and the compressor runs longer for less cooling. Unplug the fridge and vacuum the coils every few months.
Blocked vents inside
Packing the shelves tightly against the rear vents stops cold air circulating, so the freezer stays cold while the fridge compartment turns warm. Leave a gap around the vents.
Faulty thermostat, fan or defrost system
A failed evaporator fan, thermostat or defrost timer produces uneven cooling and frost build-up. These are part replacements and need a technician with the right spare.
Refrigerant leak or compressor fault
If the compressor runs continuously and nothing gets cold, the sealed system needs testing. We diagnose gas leaks and compressor faults on site and tell you honestly whether a repair or a replacement unit makes better sense.
